Hot spot

After a few hours of research I found a super new detecting location. The first day produced three silvers (1941 Washington, '59 Rosie, and a '42 merc) along with several Wheaties. The second trip produced two silvers ('55 Canadian quarter and a '57 Rosie), five Wheaties, five memorials (oldest a 1962), a boy scout clasp, a cuff link, and a medal bugle. The '57 Rosie was found by my wife, her first coin, on her first detecting trip. She used my trust ole XLT. I used my DFX with White's wonderful… Continue

About my photos

As stories go, this one is unfinished. I frequent the Ozarks in Missouri and have made great friends that I will hold dear forever. A few of these friends own a couple of pieces of property that are soaked in history. Knowing that hunting for relics and old coins is a passion, these dear friends told me of a few interesting locations. The photos are of my initial, and recent, scouting trips to these sites. My finds on the first scouting trip....... well, I was as excited as any true fan of histo… Continue

Whiting Beach & Park Hunt

I want to thank everyone who came out today. The weather was great, and we found a few coins. Maybe next time we will dig up some silver. I hope everyone who came had a good time. Thanks to Ed(club founder), along with Scott, Dan, Randy, Ray, and Greg.

Indiana Beaches

Hi all, been a very busy summer for me in terms of work, these times I guess that's a good thing.  I'm sorry to admit that I have only been out a couple times this year and that has been in the last week.  I was thinking about going to Wells street beach this morning, as most of you know Wells st. butts right up to Indiana National State Park Beach which by a phone call this morning they told me that they do not allow detecting in any of the Indiana national parks, including the beach areas.  No… Continue

New FMDAC Cards Update

1/28/2009

As I explained in the last note update the membership secretary for the FMDAC misprinted our club name on the membership cards along with two of the members name being misspelled. I contacted them last week and explained the situation and Sue Race assured me that they would send new cards out right away.  As promised they arrived within a few days and unfortunately our club name was still wrong, Indiana was missing.  The name "DUH-TEKTORS
