I agree with Ed. It was nice meeting everyone and I am looking forward to going on more outings. I was not as lucky as Ed as I found a sack cans and tin along with 6 penneys one of them being a 1936.No silver or clad. Am I doing something wrong?
Now that summer is over what do you think about going to Marquette Park/Beach?

Nope! your doing exactly what you need to do! the longer and more you run your machine the better you will understand what she is telling you! soon you will be able to tell the difference between junk and treasure! keep diggin the trash and you will get to know what trash sounds like and how your detector reacts to it! yes to most people a nickel comes up as junk, but there is a hair difference on the scale, and you will learn how your machine tells you the difference!!!!! see I just figured out on my machine how to tell between a penny and a clad dime, there is a half way point on the LCD meter btween penny and dime, all I have to do is hit pinpoint, if the meter goes up its a clad dime, if it goes down its a penny! and I have had this DUH-TEKTOR since April of 1996 go figure!!!!!! so keep doing what you are doing and you will improve!!! also don't ever go detecting with something weighing on your mind! keep a clear and positive attitude! for me it takes about an hour to an hour and a half to get into a groove, don't let the first hour or so get you down, just fiure out how long it takes you to get into your groove!!! you will go far in this hobby my friend!!!!!!
