Hi all, been a very busy summer for me in terms of work, these times I guess that's a good thing. I'm sorry to admit that I have only been out a couple times this year and that has been in the last week. I was thinking about going to Wells street beach this morning, as most of you know Wells st. butts right up to Indiana National State Park Beach which by a phone call this morning they told me that they do not allow detecting in any of the Indiana national parks, including the beach areas. Now, as some of you might also know that the Indiana dunes state park allows detecting after Labor day which had me totally confused so I made the call to the national parks office and they directed me to the fact that they do not allow any detecting anywhere! And of course she went on to say that they have archaeologist that come there to search for historical artifacts and our presents would undermine their work. Go figure!
So to summarize, Indiana Dunes State parks: YES, after Labor Day. Indiana National State Park: NO, anytime, anywhere.
