I would like to share some of my detecting locations, if anyone is interested.

I hunt with a mxt, I use my 6 inch dd coil most of the time. I like to hunt parks ,schools and beaches. Some of the places I hunt.
washington park , university of chicago
old kkk fair ground
calumet park
mann park
79th st beach, 63rd st etc.



IF you would like to hunt or just talk detectors,(I have used alot of differant makes and models since 1972) let me know.

I have hunted underwater , shallow water and dry land. I would be happy to share what I know.

Hi paul,
u of c is a good area, the 1893 columbian exposition was by the u of c and washinton park, also along the lake front. there was a horse racing track on the north end of washington park, it burned down in the early 1900's. As far as hunting in the chicago parks I have never had a problem. North of the city there is the beaches which would give you plenty of digging time. In the gold coast area there are some old parks, when you get some time check out the historical society and you'll be amazed at all the information .

is the U of C good?? Any good spots on the North side of the city?? Do you need permission to hunt in city parks??
