Tough Going

Went geocaching yesterday & stumbled across an old Park . It was clearly marked as once being a school built in the later 1800s & has been a park since the very early 1900s.. Just happed to have a metal detector or 2 along so I hit it with the Explorer for 2 hours or so .. Only found the 53 Rosie.. No other coins at all .. Somebody keeps this place cleaned out.. Parts of the park were pretty trashsy & I only had big coils along, The 10.5" on the Explorer & the 10" & the 15" for the Sovereign. Decided to head back over there this afternoon with a 8" coil on the Sovereign & the Nautilus with a 10".. Started out with the Sovereign .. Went to where I found the Rosie yesterday & poped out the V nickel after a few minutes .. Hunted about another hour with nothing but aluminum trash . Then found one of the new pennies. A couple minutes later found the merc & a half hour or so later found another new pennie then nothing for a half hour or so then found the 67 Rosie.. Decided to get out the Nautilus . Headed to a trashy area that gave me problems both days & within a minute pulled out the Indian and a couple minutes later the 56 nickel and the other new penny.. Hunted another hour or so checking some of the other lucky areas but found nothing more.. wildherre

'nother good day. what is the depth of the older coins vs the newer ones? TMAN...

All of the older coins have been very shallow , 1-3 inches but in garbage.. The Indian was in the open & only about an inch down, almost passed it up thinking it was a new drop .. The merc in the first pic was also very shallow, probably under an inch, others probably passed it over thinking it was a new drop or a aluminum lid..
