One of the important parts of this hobby is Research, go up to the top and click forums and check out the research dept. How about that Church right there on 30 get permission to hunt there!!! schools are cool and all but always clad gets boring! I have a place all set aside that I researched the hell out of, I'm waiting for Bottlebum to get his ass up here so we can hit it hard, yesterday I pulled a 1902 Barber dime from there and a 1942 Merc. Hell is there any land left where Kiddieland was, thats bound to have silver, its been there for a very long time, just research! look for all kinds of old things, places

At 2:31pm on March 30th, 2008, dr.design said…: Hi Quicksilver, I have only detected parks, school playgrounds, and my yard, so far. I am still learning the machine. I have found quite a bit of clad coins and 1 sivler Mercury dime. I have hit one school ground pretty hard (it's the closest to my house) and it has yielded about $40.00 in change last year & just over $20.00 this year. I don't believe this school had ever been detected before. Yesterday I found $4.73 there to bring me over the $20.00 mark.
Other places have not been so generous! Like you say, it is a very infectious hobby! I love it! Your also right about all the old buidings being torn down, I still need to do some research on different older locations to search.
